The Start-Up Visa Program
Canada’s Start-up Visa Program is designed for foreign entrepreneurs who have the skills and potential to build innovative businesses in Canada. The program offers permanent residency to entrepreneurs who meet the eligibility requirements and have the support of a designated organization like Innovate Niagara.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Start-up Visa program, your business venture first needs to be ‘supported’ by a designated business incubator. Through our network of incubators, Innovate Niagara can support companies wishing to apply under the program if the following terms are met:
- Your business venture meets all of the eligibility requirements of Canada’s Start-up Visa program.
- Your product or business is in the tech industry.
- You've obtained a letter of support from a designated organization such as Innovate Niagara.
- Meet Language Requirements (Proficiency in English or French).
- Your business venture is in the growth stage and has a minimum of $CAD150,000 in revenue in the past 2 years.
- You are able to demonstrate that you have enough money to support yourself and your dependents after you arrive in Canada.
- You own the Intellectual Property for your product.
